At the start of the second day, Andrzej Kowalski (foreground) and Robert Pol (background) from Oxford Diffraction completed the alignment of the xcalibur-2 diffractometer.

FIRST LIGHT !

The morning of Day 2 and diffractometer alignment with the X-ray beam has begun. This was the first image off the CCD detector and shows the direct beam.

Andrzej is shown making adjustments prior to the first data collection, which was run overnight.
