Took some time for Ghostscript package maintenance today, mostly a bit of bug report cleanup. I just can't believe how long it takes to check if a bug still applies :(

Nothing special today. Went through the Debian bugs of the Ghostscript packages and closed some that no longer apply. Seems like there are a lot of them, it just takes a lot of time to confirm that the problem does not longer exist.

I just uploaded my last 6.51 preview package to Debian unstable aka sid. gs-common now includes all the wrapper scripts around gs. I am waiting for a flood of bug reports but that is no problem since I will be at home to fix them this weekend :-)

Got a mail from Russell asking me about converting a RPM package (more precisely GSview) to a Debian package. I did not know GSview was a Linux application. Guess I will have to check it out :)

He also asked me about the problematic page in the doxygen_manual.ps file but it seems like gs does not work at all on PA-RISC - running just gs -sDEVICE=nullpage fails without giving me a prompt. I'll spend some time to look if there are any build options which could cause the hppa binaries to fail.

Okay, as always I could not find my way to my warm bed. Instead I kept hacking. As I did not like the simple build setup of hpijs and I want to package that software for Debian to support more printers with the Ghostscript packages I decided to "port" it to automake.

If anybody cares, the result is here. There is a new tar.gz and a diff which I have to send upstream I guess. In fact I just did exactly that. Time to get some sleep...
