1. The new msi install files install Oscail much faster then
the old installation files.
2. The new msi files allow a better interaction with Windows.
3. If you are using the msi files on a computer which has
a 2004 or earlier version of Oscail installed you need to "uninstall" the existing Oscail.
This can be accomplished as follows.
Delete
any Oscail icons on the desktop or Start Menu
Install oscail.msi and
then uninstall it using the control panel add remove programs function.
A second install using the same oscail.msi
file will give a working system.
This procedure will not loose any files.
4. The msi files will in future automatically uninstall an
older version when you make an upgrade. If you want to reinstall the same
version you will need to first remove the installed version using the control
panel.
5. If you have redefined atom colours you should be able to
restore them after you install Oscail using the Maintain
command on the Oscail menu.
