| Version | Features |
| Version 2.55 2004.10.16 | Just a bug fixed concerning default drawing for hydrogen bonds has been fixed... |
| OLEX Help 2004.04.19 | OLEX Help |
| Essential OLEX libraries and initialisation files | Have to be placed into the OLEX installation folder |
| Version 2.55 2004.09.10 | Not much has changed as I continue working on OLEX II, but some features, as the centroids being drawn translucent and possibility to have polyhedral drawing for selected atoms can be useful to create pictures like this one (see a movie as well, 800x600, zip). Some bugs have been fixed: now centroids keep their properties when loaded from a file and atom sizes are updated when a cry file is loaded. |
| Version 2.54 2004.05.19 | A bug, which came from previous version: short interactions analysis do not work from the "Generation Options" dialog is fixed |
| Version 2.54 2004.04.24 |
1. A feature added, which allows on-screen selection of topological
bonds to be "collided" to one node. 2. The generation algorithm has been significantly optimised for speed. However be sure to have at least 512Mb of memory to generate structures with more than 100k atoms. |
| Version 2.54 2004.04.19 |
1. The concept of topological analysis has been changed. The algorithm
for the construction of topological networks has been generalised and
does need any user assistance. However the network constructed in this
way not always has much chemical sense. To give the network chemical
sense, the user should use one or more "Collide to one Node" commands
accessible from the list of topological bond ("Bonds" window). 2. An utility for the creation of AVI clips has been released. Please refer to the help file. 3. Two list-related commands are added to "Atoms" and "Bonds" lists. One command, "Remove", removes selected elements form the list shown in a window. Another command is "Select these only" - similar to the "Select" command; but this command empties the selection list before it puts anything in it. Some examples of how to use these commands are described in the help file. 4. Planes drawing procedure has been fixed. However, if you have an existing cry-file, you will need to construct planes again, to make the drawing correct. 5. Delete atoms and bonds and emptying of the Undo procedures have been optimised for speed. |
| Version 2.53 2004.02.25 |
1. Behaviour of the BS default style has been changed. Now it works more
predictably 2. Undo does not remember rotations, which makes easier to work 3. New feature added in the "Atoms" and "Bonds" windows - select. The operation puts selected elements to the selection buffer so that following clicking on the toolbar buttons shows the list of the selected elements. The feature allows step-by-step selection of structural elements. 4. New feature added to the "Structures/Fragments" window - the list items can be selected by a number of properties - color, visibility and size. Elements of the selected fragments also can be placed into the selection buffer. 5. The "Show axis" command accessible from the main menu and the "View" window now shows the unit cell axis (not the XYZ basis as previously) and also shows the axis labels. |
| Version 2.53 2004.02.04 | Few bugs have been fixed |
| Version 2.53 2004.02.02 | Eventually, the help file has been compiled. Unpack the archive to the OLEX folder and replace old olex.exe. If there is no 'Help' button in a window, press F1. Nearly all topics and windows have been covered. To got to OLEX Website press corresponding item in the 'Help' menu. Note: if you have a local copy of OLEX website, then it will be opened instead. |
| Version 2.53 2004.01.20 |
1. Export of the OLX files for the use with the
MolDraw Applet 2. Structure Expansion has changed: a shortcut Ctrl+E added and auto select expansion option is implemented 3. The possibility to save the topological network into MDL MOL file is implemented. Just note that if there are some 'Q'-peaks in the network (if OLEX creates centroids) their type have to be changed to a know element. 4. New section "How to...?" is added. If you do not know how to do something - ask me, I will put the answer to that page to let other users to read it. |
| Version 2.52 2003.12.19 |
New features added: 1. Polyhedral drawing. View->Polyhedra; the colour of polyhedra and their visibility is defined by corresponding atom properties. Thus to show polyhedra the View->Polyhedra should be executed and the atoms shown. 2. MDL Mol files now can be loaded into OLEX using the clipboard "Paste" operation 3. Drawing on huge bitmaps now works. To change the image resolution go to the Preferences->Program dialog. The option works for the resolution more than 4 and up to 10. However, the crop operation does not work with large pictures. 4. Now atoms can be grouped by symmetry operations used to generate them 5. Hide unbound atoms operation is optimised: now works very fast 6. Few bugs are fixed. 7. A page showing how scene parameters affect the view is created. The parameters can be downloaded from the page. Could be very useful to understand different scene parameters. |
| Version 2.51 2003.11.14 |
Topological analysis has been reviewed. Now topological networks can be
created by the definition of only single metal centres (in the case of
multicomponent nets), or element type for chemical element networks like
diamond.
A new button appeared in the Network menu - Evaluate Topology. The function finds unique nodes in the preconstructed topological framework and evaluates their vertex (topological) symbols and places them to the Windows clipboard (Use Ctrl+V to insert it into a document). |
| Version 2.5 2003.11.06 |
Schlafli (Vertex) symbols evaluation procedure is changed.
The changes affect only long symbols (for my knowledge)
Help->Contents menu now launches default web browser with this web page unless a copy of help files exists in the OLEX\help folder. |
| Version 2.5 2003.06.26 | Now the crop frame can be used to measure distances |
| Version 2.5 2003.06.09 |
1. Added import/export of Protein Data Base (PDB) files
2. Added feature for managing multiple INS/CIF files |
