As you know, URW++ has donated the set of core 35 PostScript fonts to the GhostScript project some five years ago. Recently, I learned from Walter Schmidt on the tex-fonts list that German users find Nimbus Sans unacceptable as its germandbls (ß) sign is designed narrower than in Helvetica while preserving the same metric information, which results in disturbing gap after the germandbls (ß) sign.As a remedy, I designed a new, wider germandbls sign, which is more palatable. Is there a way to get the corrected symbol into the Ghostscript distribution - after a thorough review by the development team, of course?
