Most files used by VEC are text files. Many of them can be opened in either graphic or text mode. For example, the file "Phthalocyanine.enh", which stores high-resolution structure factors and crystallographic information of copper chlorinated phthalocyanine, can be opened in graphic mode (shown on the right) using the button . Or, it can be opened in text mode (shown on the left) using the button . The graphic mode allows manipulation with the visual-computing functions provided by VEC, while the text mode allows only editing.
