Introduction
------------
This is an alpha release of the POV-Utilities Tutorials.

It is Freeware, not public domain.  The author reserves all rights.
These files must be distributed as a whole, and may not be sold
for profit.

All of the Scene Creation utils are done, and the Scene conversion
utils remain.

This is initially designed to help describe the utilities for the
users of the Macintosh version of the POV-Utilities, but may be of
interest to the MSDOS world as well.

The POV-Utilities generate objects for the FreeWare ray tracer called
POV-Ray.  This ray tracer runs on the IBM PC, Macintosh, Amiga, and
many unix and other computers.  The ray tracer can be found on Compuserve
under the Graphics Development Forum (GO GRAPHDEV.)  It can also be
found on America Online, in the PC Graphics forum, under Company Support.
The Mac POV-Utilities can also be found in these places.

The Files
---------
Each utility is demonstrated by a suite of files.  There is a text file
that describes the utility, and runs through an example.  This file has
the extension .TUT (e.g., Coil.Tut.)  There is also a ready-made POV-Ray
source file shell that can be used to render and display the example after
it is created (e.g., CoilTut.POV.)

There is also a POV-Ray include file that is used by all the tutorials,
which provides a simple background, camera, and light source.  The object
is then placed in this scene.  To use it, just put the line
#include "UtilTut.inc"
in the .POV file.

The files assume that you are using POV-Ray 1.0.  If you are using version
2.0, then uncomment the "version 1.0" line in the file UtilTut.inc.

What to do
----------
First, read through the .TUT document you are interested in.  Then, follow
the instructions in the document to create the object by using the
POV-Utilities.
