NIH Image users without Microsoft Word can be disadvantaged in the full utilization of the program. Many word processors do not fully translate many of the unique features of Word. The file accompaning this read me text ,Image_1.61_Docs_no_MSWord.hqx, contains NIH Image 1.61 Manual, Inside NIH Image 1.61, and NIH Image 1.61 Engineering in self-reading document format. An advantage of this is the built index and table of content which hotlink to most topics in the text. It is much easier on memory than Word and much faster. Also it's portable. Send any questions to Doug Morris, dmorris@bmrl.med.uiuc.edu. P.S. The program used to generate this is called eDOC and is available at HyperInfoMac, http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive.html .
